Who We Are

Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) is a social justice umbrella organization, working in Ontario since 1991. As a non-profit organization, CASSA facilitates the economic, social, political and cultural empowerment of South Asians by serving as a resource for information, research, mobilization, co-ordination and leadership on social justice issues affecting our communities to participate in defining Canada’s future. CASSA envisions and strives for a Canada free of all forms of discrimination in which all communities are free from marginalization and are fully empowered to participate in defining Canada’s political, economic, social and cultural future.

The year 2012 began with a successful gala event CASSA NITE- Our Stories, Our Histories attended by several dignitaries, community leaders and media representatives strengthening CASSAs commitment to social justice, anti-oppression, anti-racism, anti-homophobia, responsiveness, diversity, collaboration, solidarity and accountability and paving the way for many such events to follow.
